About Us
Meet the Team
At SF Sports Medicine, we provide industrial athletic training services for companies and organizations that seek to maximize the health and performance of their employees. Our team is led by Steve Favia, a highly experienced certified athletic trainer.
After graduating in 2011 from the University of Arkansas with a Masters in Athletic Training, he entered into outpatient orthopedics working with several professional and amateur sports teams. Steve has over a decade of private practice experience working with outpatient orthopedic patients and athletes as well as within occupational and industrial athletic training fields.

Aside from running a successful business, Steve and his wife Jennifer are also proud parents of three young boys. Their family values are the foundation of SF Sports Medicine, and they strive to give back to the community through their services.

At SF Sports Medicine, we believe that the right training can make all the difference. One of our team leaders is Brian Vogler, who has a wealth of experience in industrial athletic training. His expertise in prevention, recognition, and management of injuries allows our clients to reach their goals safely and efficiently.
Originally from New Jersey, Brian graduated from Kean University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. He later continued his education with a Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. Brian then moved to South Florida in 2015 and eventually settled in Sarasota. For the last decade, he has served as a Licensed Athletic Trainer working with athletes in both the collegiate and secondary school settings. Brian is looking forward to working with his client’s employees to help improve their health and wellness and overall work experience.
In Brian's spare time, he enjoys country line dancing and participating in ultra-marathons. His goal is to complete a Full Iron Man in the near future. When he is not dancing or running, he is spending time with his new wife Megan, their cat Missy, and dog Charlie.

Originally from New Jersey, Jason is a seasoned professional committed to health and wellness. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from William Paterson University and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University. Jason's career began as a certified strength and conditioning coach before transitioning to Amazon, where he now excels as an Injury Prevention Specialist. His expertise includes ergonomics and body mechanics training, focusing on enhancing workplace health and safety. Outside of his professional life, Jason remains active with sports and workouts, and enjoys quality time with his wife Bridget and their dalmatian, Brody.

Originally from Indiana, Sheridan graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2016. Upon graduation, Sheridan moved to the Tampa Bay area where she has served as a Licensed Athletic Trainer for athletes in the secondary school setting.
In her free time, Sheridan enjoys kayaking, playing golf, tennis and pickleball, and spending time with her boyfriend Nick and cat Luna.

Brian Waters is originally from Wisconsin where he grew up on a dairy farm. He joined the US Navy in 1999 and served for 5 years. He was deployed to New York the day of 9/11 and immediately deployed to Afghanistan.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s degree in athletic training from Old Dominion University in 2012.
Since then, he has worked as a Licensed Athletic Trainer from the panhandle of Florida to Palm Beach County Schools. Most recently, he was the Athletic Trainer at Manatee High School and the Director of Premier Sports Medicine. Currently, he works as an Injury Prevention Specialist at Amazon.
Brian is passionate about the health and wellness of his patients and improvement of a patient’s work process to mitigate injury risks. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his girlfriend and her son as well as his new puppy Atlas!

Originally from Missouri, Deann graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She then moved to Florida to attend Webber International University, where she earned a Master of Business Administration in Sports Business Management.
Now based in St. Petersburg, Deann has accumulated valuable experience in both collegiate and secondary school settings. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys boating, fishing, traveling, sports, and spending time with her dogs!

How does it work?Prevention, intervention, and mitigation are words we commonly use in industrial athletic training.
